Life as a journey
This truth leaves me in deep reflection and sober thoughts, knowing fully well that life is temporary and that man is like a traveler passing through a strange land.

Looking at the realities of life today, one begins to understand how empty worldly pursuits can become. Wealth, fame, beauty, influence, and achievements may seem permanent, yet they can vanish within moments. The story and life experiences surrounding Alexx Ekubo present one of the many examples of how human expectations, relationships, fame, and public admiration can suddenly change. A man may appear successful outwardly while inwardly carrying burdens, disappointments, pains, and silent battles unknown to the world. This alone reminds us that life can be cruel, unpredictable, and filled with uncertainties. Men celebrate today and mourn tomorrow. People gather during seasons of laughter, but disappear during seasons of pain. Truly, vanity upon vanity; all is vanity.
Life is therefore not merely a journey of survival, but a divine mission entrusted into our hands by God. Every human being was created for a purpose, and every passing moment is an opportunity to discover that purpose before time runs out. Many people spend their entire lives chasing temporary pleasures without preparing for eternity. Some build earthly empires but neglect their spiritual lives. Others gain the world yet lose peace, joy, and direction. The greatest tragedy in life is not death itself, but living without knowing God and departing this world unprepared.
As I reflect on another birthday today, I am reminded that repentance is not for tomorrow but for now. No one truly knows the appointed hour when life will end. Death does not consider age, wealth, popularity, or status. It comes to kings and servants alike. This is why every human being must surrender completely to the will of God. To surrender to God means allowing His purpose, commandments, and direction to guide our lives above personal desires and worldly ambitions. It means living with humility, obedience, love, forgiveness, holiness, and reverence for the Creator. The will of God is not meant to destroy humanity but to save mankind from destruction and eternal regret.
The will of God teaches us to love one another genuinely, to help the weak, to remain faithful, to seek righteousness, and to live in constant remembrance that this world is not our permanent home. Many people fear surrender because they believe they will lose enjoyment, but the truth is that peace only comes through God. Human beings can hide pain behind smiles, luxury, social media appearances, and public success, yet only God can heal the soul completely. A life without God may appear beautiful outwardly but remain empty inwardly.
Birthdays should therefore not only be moments of celebration but also moments of reflection, repentance, and rededication. They should remind us to examine our lives, relationships, actions, and spiritual standing before God. We must ask ourselves: What legacy am I building? What impact am I making? If today were my last day on earth, would I be ready to meet my Creator?
As I celebrate this new age, I pray for wisdom to live purposefully, strength to walk in righteousness, grace to fulfill destiny, and a heart that remains surrendered to God no matter the challenges of life. May God continue to guide my path, preserve my family, and help me become a blessing to humanity. Above all, may my life continually reflect His glory.
Happy Birthday to me;
A son of Eberi, Omuma LGA, Rivers State, Nigeria.
A traveler on earth.
A man seeking purpose.
A soul preparing for eternity.
Just the reality of life ..
